Well I'm the proud mother of a bouncing bunch of bananas! Our banana tree was ready for harvesting yesterday so Sra. Dora helped me cut the giant stalk of bananas. A couple of them were ripe and ready to eat and they are delicious! The others are green still so I have them ripening on the terraza. You can't leave them on the plant until they ripen because the birds like bananas too and will eat them! After harvesting them, Sra. Dora cut down the plant because it won't produce again. However, the plant had spawned an offspring, and that plant will now grow and be able to grow another stalk of bananas for us in a few months! Pretty cool huh?!
