Last of 2004

We had a hot day here today, but it actually rained for a short while, which is unusual at this time of year. I guess we're expecting a strange summer weather-wise due to El NiƱo. We did some fixing up around the house today... fixed a couple of the screens in the terraza... one where the cats escape out of and the other where Toby broke into the house when he was little. Those look better now.

Not sure what fried Katie's computer... she had to move it when we put her desk together. Maybe a cable got jostled and it shorted something out. Then again, when we took the power supply to have it tested at the shop, it caught on fire! That was kind of funny... the technician's face anyway! So it could just have been a short that started there and spread through all the other components.

I made sausage and sauerkraut, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes for supper tonight. Every once in a while some of the stores will carry sauerkraut and I'll buy a few cans or a jar, as the case may be. In the States I liked Klaussen sauerkraut in a jar... but here I take what I can find! It was tasty anyway... but the kids think I'm crazy because I like to eat ham and sauerkraut and sausage with mustard.

Tomorrow night we'll bring in the New Year at church with a potluck and a movie. Afterwards we'll be shooting off more fireworks after church, which is always a scary thing...so much traffic and people... but it's a tradition here... so folks always bring fireworks.
